Aiki-Jujutsu is an ancient Japanese martial art, and has many benefits and practical applications. In addition to the physical benefits of greater flexibility, balance and strength, one also receives the mental and spiritual benefits of finding one's center, gaining an higher level of self awareness, self confidence, and conflict resolution. Because the principles of Aiki are of harmonious motion and blending of energy, it is possible for people of all different strengths and abilities to practice together. Remember that Aiki means harmony with energy, so that anyone can learn the movements regardless of strength, or age.

Some compare Aiki-Jujutsu to dancing or "moving meditation" and in many ways these descriptions are true, since the movements are very circular and the practitioner strives to keep the body and mind calm and relaxed throughout practice. Aiki-Jujutsu's individual techniques are very effective in self defense, and are taught for that purpose only. The heart of Aiki is harmony, and since the techniques are potentially deadly, fighting or competing are prohibited, instead, movements are studied and practiced in partnered exercises.
