Midwest Association of Sport Karate

The goal of this regional league is the advancement of Sport Karate and Grappling through competitions that are based on professionalism and integrity. Fair, organized events will emphasize good sportsmanship, and model to the competitors the key basics of respect, courtesy, and positive attitudes. Promoters, instructors, and parents will be able to share ideas and philosophies in a friendly atmosphere free of politics and ego. A year end event culminates the season with a fun-filled awards banquet for competitors and their families. Members at all levels of athleticism are recognized for their achievement, validating and encouraging the diligence in training and self-discipline necessary for advancement.

The Mission of the Kodomo Bugei Kai is that, like children, we are growing in our training as martial artists, striving to be the best physically and spiritually in the arts. East Country Hoedowners

Formed in February 1991 under the direction of Jayne Treadwell (Sensei Sutton's sister), the East Country Hoedowners traditional clogging team exhibits a variety of styles which exemplify the rich heritage and the art of clogging in North Carolina.

Additionally, internationally, nationally and regionally known as a clogging instructor, Treadwell is a 3rd generation clogger who comes from a true clogging background.......30 years ago she learned to clog from her granddaddy in a barn! In addition to conducting weekly classes in Wilson and surrounding areas, Jayne also teaches at workshops in North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Tennessee, Kentucky and Germany.

Her instructional DVD, "Building on the Basic", teaches how to create over 200 step combinations using only the two steps that compose one of the first steps you learn in clogging, known worldwide as "the Basic". Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive as cloggers everywhere discover that it's not how many steps you know, but what you do with those steps that counts!
