Robert W. Northcutt has been active in the martial arts since 1987 and has been active in public education since 1991. Robert is married to Kristen (Howser) Northcutt and has 2 children. He currently teaches junior high and high school mathematics at Stoutland public school and has been there since 1993. He is a member of the South Hwy. 5 Church of Christ and performs various duties with that congregation. He has a Master's degree in Mathematics Education from Missouri State University - Springfield and has been involved in several state education programs. Robert's training in the martial arts began in 1987 while attending Southeast Mo. State University. He received instruction in Judo, Ju-Jitsu, and Hapkido while working on his Bachelor's degree. In 1992, he started training under Roger Moore in Tae Kwon Do (U.S.T.F.) and has progressed to the current rank of 4th Dan. He achieved assistant instructor status in 1997 and full instructor status in 2003. He has trained under Marc McFann in grappling and has received training in the Ernie Reyes World Martial Arts system. In 2007 he attained Nidan (2nd Dan) in Ryu Kyu Kobu-Jutsu under Renshi Angela Sutton. Robert currently instructs at the Academy of Self Defense and Combative Arts, primarily in the area of Applied Defensive Skills.
