I believe that it is highly important for people, especially children, to be involved in some form of activity outside of home, school, and work. I enrolled my son, Robert, in martial arts when he was five years old. He is now eleven. I enjoy watching Robert and the other children in their classes. The classes have helped him to mature and become more social. As he moved up in rank, I found myself wanting to join, but I did not feel like I could. My excuses ran miles long with reasons as to why I could not do it. I've always been on the outside looking in.

First, I began with Cardio Kickboxing after being encouraged by the instructors to try a class. I enjoyed the class so much. I then started self defense. After a few months, I was asked to try Bujutsu. I was hesitant, but received so much encouragement from the instructors, well; I jumped in feet first to take the plunge. I have so much fun and have learned so much. The joy I feel while being at the Academy, almost every day, learning and talking to other students and instructors is hard to express.

I would so recommend the Academy to everyone, whatever their age. The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful. I believe if I can do this, most anyone can.

My three sons have been attending The Academy of Self Defense and Combative Arts for almost two years. I am happy to recommend The Academy to anyone who is looking for quality martial arts instruction. The Academy offers a well rounded program that includes respect, discipline, as well as the art of karate. Angela Sutton and her staff are true professionals and have a vast knowledge of many different forms of martial arts. They treat all of their students with respect and kindness. My kids and I feel like we are part of a family not like we are just customers.

I, too, have had the pleasure of being instructed by the staff by taking Cardio kickboxing. Cardio kickboxing is a fantastic way to exercise, lose weight and relieve stress. The classes are fast and furious and lots of fun. For those who are just starting out, the instructors show you how to work at your own pace. It's a great time!

I just can't say enough about The Academy. I am so glad that my kids have the opportunity to learn martial arts in a setting that fosters good form, respect and discipline. I am also glad that I have the opportunity to enjoy myself, too.
